AMEC will conduct a 1-day course on Advanced Work Zone Training on Wednesday, July 28, 2026, instructed by Chris Engelbrecht.  This course is designed to better educate those responsible for designing and managing temporary traffic control in work zone safety considerations. Upon completion of the course, the participants will be certified as a “Work Zone Specialist (WZS). Actions of the WZS directly impact the mobility and safety of a work zone. The WZS is responsible for knowing applicable standards, guidelines, interpreting plans, specifications, coordinating temporary traffic control requirements, meeting the requirements of the contract or field operation guidelines and supervising traffic control personnel.  MoDOT requires this training for supervisors. The registration fee is $350 per person and lunch will be provided. An agenda is available here.
