The
Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives is proud to announce
a valuable new addition to its executive staff. Sen. David G.
Klindt (R-Bethany) will join the association as Vice President
on July 7.
Executive
Vice President and CEO Barry Hart said David Klindt is a natural
fit for the association, which provides a wide array of services
for Missouri's 48 electric cooperatives.
“We're
elated that David Klindt has agreed to come on board,” Hart
declared. “His broad knowledge of energy issues, his long
relationship with agriculture and rural communities, and his
background in technology make him a great asset for us.”
Klindt
was first elected to the Missouri House of Representatives
in 1997 and to the Missouri Senate in 2001, where he serves as
Majority Whip, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce,
Energy and the Environment, and Chairman of the Joint Committee
on Corrections. He previously served as Chairman of the Senate
Committee on Agriculture, Conservation and State Parks.
“I'm
excited about this new opportunity to serve the people of Missouri,” Klindt
said. “I
look forward to helping our electric cooperatives meet the
needs of their members. With some of the new technologies currently
under development, I think the Missouri electric cooperatives have
a bright future.”
Some
of Sen. Klindt's awards include the Spirit of Enterprise Award
from the Missouri Chamber of Commerce; the Distinguished Service
Award and the Meritorious and Dedicated Service Award from the
Red Angus Association of America, and the Friend of Agriculture
Award from the Missouri Farm Bureau.
Sen.
Klindt was a farmer and rancher for more than 30 years as
well as co-owner of a software company. He is also a former
director of the Red Angus Association of America.
