MEC's legislative
department represents the interests of Missouri's electric cooperatives
and their members before the Missouri General Assembly, state agencies
and the U.S. Congress. Their responsibilites include educating lawmakers
about Missouri's electric cooperatives, monitoring legislation which
affects co-ops and their members and influencing legislation when
necessary. The department also works closely with regulators and other
state officials.
