Power restoration continues for electric cooperatives

Power restoration efforts continue at Missouri electric cooperatives affected by the ice storm. About 40,000 cooperative members remain without power. The largest concentration of outages remains at Ozark Electric Cooperative, where approximately 11,000 members remain without power, down from 20,000-plus at the height of the problem.

Through the Emergency Assistance Program at the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives, Jefferson City, 317 men, with 51 digger derrick trucks, 52 large bucket trucks, 38 small bucket trucks and other equipment have been dispatched to assist the thousands of local linemen working to restore power.

Electric cooperatives across Missouri sent crews. Assistance also came from cooperatives in Illinois, Arkansas and Kansas.
